Steppenwolf is a seventeen-year archive of wandering between worlds, physical and internal. Rather than a singular thematic series, it is a living document of a life in transition, a collection of 428 photographs, ephemera, journal entries, and notes, organized chronologically, one chapter per year.

The distinction between work and life is deliberately blurred. It's as much a monograph of projects never finished as it is a raw personal journal.

The photographs move between Los Angeles, New York, Milan, Puglia, Sicily, Myanmar, the American Southwest. The writing moves between a motel room in the California desert, a landlord's apartment in Milan, and some airport at 3am. Some of it is observation. Some of it is closer to a diary. When I imagined making a photography book, I never thought it would be this personal.

At its core, Steppenwolf records the friction of navigating an external world that can feel alien, while simultaneously celebrating the inherent joy of exploration and the profound beauty found in wandering. This isn't a story of redemption or arrival. It's an account of solitude, of restlessness, and of the camera as a way of staying attentive.
